Saturday, January 28 One of the prime functions of the Internet besides cheap hook-ups and crackpot political information is the chance for the Berts of the world to show off their paper clip collections -- and they do.
Sixteen years has yielded well over 2,000 erasers of various decorative quality and they are featured in My Eraser Collection (joewood-worker.com/erasers/erasercollection.htm) with items not only from Wal-Mart, but also far-flung nations of the world. This is one guy who wants to be known for his mundane obsession and he says that "the Guinness World Records are ignoring me. I sent them all of the paperwork, one video tape, photos, notarized letters, one newspaper article and every other piece of data they required. Several months after I sent the package of information to them, they had not replied. When I contacted them, they said they never received the package." He pulled the old certified mail trick. Anyhow, from the pictures, it looks like he snuck one few Star Wars and Rambo action figures in to make it look bigger, but I don't want to make one big deal out of it because, judging by his page, he has it in for the media and what the hell do I know about erasers anyhow? ...
