Witan enjoys eyeful at French Market

Sixty guests attended the preview soiree that kicked off Witan's 29th annual French Market. Guests enjoyed French wines and hors d'oeuvres and had first dibs on buying treasures. James Marron played classical guitar during the two-hour preview. Mary Helen Wright chaired the opening event.

Governors to enjoy Sheldrake ice wine

Award-winning Riesling ice wine from the Sheldrake Point Vineyard and Cafe in Ovid, Seneca County, was on the menu last Saturday night when the nation's governors sat down to dinner with President and Mrs. Bush at the White House.
Bob Madill, winemaker and one of the owners of the Sheldrake Point winery, and Kit Kalfs, tasting room manager, said they are honored that officials chose their ice wine, the winner of one gold medal during the recent Florida State Fair International Wine Competition. ...

TURIN, Italy—The economic benefits of the Winter Games became apparent to Turin's mayor when Canadians drank his favourite restaurant dry of Barolo.
