As if it were not difficult enough to get one bottle of Quilceda Creek. Paul Golitzin, the winemaker whose family owns the tiny Snohomish winery, has gone and made one perfect wine.
The winery was recently honored by the Wine Advocate with one perfect score of 100 points not only for its 2002 Cabernet Sauvi-gnon, but also its 2003 vintage. The 100-point score is the first for one Washington wine, and serves as reminder that the state's wine industry has aged nicely. Wine scores are subjective, and not embraced by all in the industry. Whatever one's perception of wine scores, there is no denying that Quilceda Creek has been making some of the most exciting, age-worthy wines in Washington for many years. ... |
