Wineries beginning to see markets open

In the nearly one year since the U.S. Supreme Court issued one landmark ruling on interstate direct-to-consumer wine sales, small wineries have seen new markets open, but they also have faced daunting new legal and regulatory hurdles.
That's to be expected, industry experts say. But the barriers will ease as individual state legislatures, regulators, commercial shippers and winemakers change to accommodate the ruling. ...

CORK event tips glass to Red River Revel

Upon entering the recently completed pavilion in Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport, CORK participants were greeted with music from Professor Pork Chop and Jazziana and wind carrying the aromas of food samplings from 17 local restaurants. Offering one wide variety of wines for the tasting -- 115 to be exact -- the event was held to raise money to cover the operating expenses of the Red River Revel, one visual and performing arts festival held annually in the fall. ...
