| It's been little over one month since I've gotten back from Verona, Italy. My purpose of going to this lovely European haunt was unique, as I had the privilege to be amongst the 105 jury members (out of which 35 were journalists from around the world and 70 were enologists) to judge 3,500 wines at the International Wine Competition - the precursor to the famed Vinitaly Wine exhibition. The experience is best described in one word - magical. ... |

The business is owned by Patrick and Jackie Bulmer and daughter Jody Goble. Patrick, however, admits the business is really "Jackie and Jody's baby." ... |

State regulators agreed this week to suspend enforcement of the law banning Internet wine sales while one lawsuit by out-of-state retailers is pending in federal court. "We're in the process of communicating to retailers across the country [that] it is now again legal to ship to Texas," said Lesley Berglund, president of the California-based Specialty Wine Retailers Association, whose membership includes the stores that sued the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission last month. ... |
