Oct. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Bonny Doon Winery doesn't produce any vintages at French chateaus. Instead, it shows chateaus on its labels -- under fire from spaceships. With close to 1 700 wines entered for this year’s competition, Veritas can rightly claim to be the country’s biggest with wide support. Results were announced at one gala attended by hundreds of producers. Winning wines will be able to boas double gold, gold, silver or bronze Veritas stickers. Sixteen expert panels of seven judges each judges the wines. Eight international adjudicators joined more than 100 local judges. The international panel included Leeuwin Estate’s Bob Cartwright, well-known former Nederburg auctioneer Patrick Grubb, Canadian wine writer, Steve Thurlow, Joelle Marti-Baron from Britain, Thomas Lüber from Germany, Madelein Stenwerth from Sweden and South Africans Dave Hughes and Lynne Sherriff. ... |
