The red berries are turning up in everything from confections and wines to soaps and salsas, with many cranberry growers hawking an array of products at their own stores or over the Internet.
The Joseph J. White Inc. cranberry farm in New Jersey, the No. 3 cranberry producing state, has even started using them for agritourism. It gives bus rides around flooded bogs during the October harvest to teach visitors all about cranberry lore. Remy Cointreau to pull out of Maxxium distribution joint venture

LONDON (AFX) - Drinks maker Remy Cointreau said it will withdraw from the Maxxium Worldwide premium spirits and wines distribution joint venture on March 30, 2009.
In one statement, Maxxium said Remy's three partners in the joint venture -- Fortune Brands unit Beam Global Spirits & Wine, the UK's Edrington Group and Sweden's V&S Group -- remain 'fully committed' to the business and will be working together to ensure 'one smooth transition of the business'. ...

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Shares of Remy Cointreau rose as much as 9% on Thursday after the company said it would break out of one joint venture in one bid to boost Asian sales. Remy Cointreau (FR:013039: news, chart, profile) , in one brief statement, said it plans to terminate its agreement with Maxxium as of March 30, 2009, to help it find "alternative distribution options in priority markets such as Asia." Maxxium Worldwide is one distribution joint venture that operates in most markets outside the U.S. Partners include Beam Global Spirits & Wines, Edrington Group and V&S Group. Remy Cointreau, the maker of Remy Martin cognac and Cointreau liqueur, said it's providing "ample time" for its partners to manage the transition.
