Sacramento Opera once again will sponsor its party called Grand Opera in the Grand Ballroom. The Mardi Gras-themed festivities in the former bank building at 629 J St. begin at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 15. Highlights include hors d'oeuvres, fine wines and desserts, entertainment by stars of Sacramento Opera's production of "Carmen" (which will be presented Feb. 23, 25 and 27 at the Community Center Theater) and one preview of the opera's 2007-08 season. ... |

_ Summer Day Market has always had fresh, healthy and organic foods, vitamins, meats, ice cream, fish and wines. But now, after six months of work, electrical wiring and permits, the Deli-Grocery has twice as many organic items to sell in twice the space. Sisters Jessica and Sarah Aselo have been working very very hard to get all of the new frozen, packaged, bulk and fresh items on the shelf. They are smiling all the way.
