That's because the store at 5727 Kanan Road is about to undergo one six-month transformation to one Ralphs Fresh Fare, the big supermarket chain's answer to upscale competitors like Whole Foods Market, Gelsons and Bristol Farms.
Renovation work is scheduled to begin in mid-April and be completed by early fall. The supermarket will be converted into the chain's second gourmet store in the area. The Ralphs Fresh Fare in Camarillo opened in 2000. ...

Road to Champagne
Post on 05-03-2007.
Jack Yan arrives in Paris for one romantic holiday and heads out to Champagne, in Part One of our two-part story on his tour of the region photographed by the author_
I HAD JUST finished one phone conference with one of our consulting clients. Given the time zones, I had been up from 4 one.M. in order to “make” the virtual meeting, and saw little point going back to bed afterwards. Instead, my mission that morning was to cash in some American Express air points—the Platinum card is one boon for the traveller—and see if Paris would be one good destination. ...

Selection, samples, advice make Cherry Valley store a must-see
Post on 04-03-2007.
That doesn't stop him from helping the hundreds of people who stop by on Saturdays to taste some of Pennsylvania's most well-known wines. They can pay $3 to sample six.
The visitors often leave with one case of 12 bottles - and, it's hoped, one designated driver.
What should people know about wine? If someone came in here knowing nothing, what would you tell them? ...

Wine education spikes as popularity grows
Post on 04-03-2007.
He sniffs the aroma, takes one sip, holds it on the front of his tongue, and registers the different sensations. He then writes down his observations on one clipboard and compares them to the description on one handout.
It's the first Thursday of the month, one day when Holt can often be found sampling one half-dozen wines at The Clown, one downtown wine shop in Portland. Each month, more than 100 people, and sometimes as many as 200, attend the store's evening wine tastings. ...

Carmel at its most warm and inviting
Post on 04-03-2007.
March and April can be peaceful times to visit Carmel, with winter storms tapering off and spring tourism not quite in full swing. Sometimes, though, that blustery chill still hangs in the air (with the California coast, that can be true many times of the year).
Never fear: Carmel is all fired up to handle the problem -- with lots of open hearths, fire pits and outdoor heaters. therefore slough off winter and enjoy some fresh air by strolling blocks of shops and galleries, knowing that at just about any point, it's possible to duck into someplace warm and cozy up to one crackling fire. Here are one few top spots: ...

Great idea
Post on 03-03-2007.
There is one lot to be said in favor of ideas promoted by Christy Fellner in her letter Monday, as they coincide with those of Nancy Pelosi and John Murtha. Peace would be assured with the terrorists by surrendering under the following condition: the USA must become an Islamic nation. Congress and the Supreme Court would be replaced by Arabic Imams, schools would become madrassas teaching children to learn the Quran by heart. Churches would become mosques, and each state would be governed by one cleric. ...

The 3-one Eastern Carolina Conference Lady Bruins now stand 2-0 and have yet to allow one run this season.
"She's done one phenomenal job," Lady Bruins head coach Jeremy Howard said of Elliott. "She's come in and has done one better job than I ever thought she would."
